HaldanMES

Haldan Consulting is a provider of production management systems to industry. Our systems build on our knowledge and experience in helping manufacturing companies improve their performance.

Most Manufacturers have acknowledged that they lack adequate monitoring and reporting of their manufacturing activities. HaldanMES is the solution which facilitates continuous improvement in manufacturing environments through the measurement and analysis of Manufacturing Execution.

HaldanMES provides both operators and management with essential and accurate information via in depth analysis and reporting. The power of the software lies in its capacity to report losses quickly, visualize the effect on daily production, and facilitate effective corrective action. HaldanMES allows your production team to identify hidden capacity and utilise it in improving production output. It is able to literally double production at half the cost, or lower costs whilst maintaining current capacity.

Delivering Results through InnovationHaldanMES’s base module focusses on measuring and analysing OEE (or Overall Equipment Effectiveness). OEE is a central component of the TPM (or Total Productive Maintenance), as it serves as a measurement tool for most of the TPM pillars for continuous improvements:

The eight pillars of TPM, and how OEE fits into this continuous improvement program. OEE is a central component of the TPM (or Total Productive Maintenance), as it serves as a measurement tool for most of the TPM pillars for continuous improvements.

The Basic Pillars of TPM was sourced from A. Koch (1999,3): “OEE for Operators”, published by Productivity Development Team.

OEE measures how well a machine (or equipment) is operating and identifies losses in availability, performance and quality. This is a crucial indicator for TPM.

"Given the fact that the added value of products usually occurs in machines and equipment, TPM primarily focusses improvement activities on machine-related loss", explains Arno Koch (2007, 11), cited in "OEE for the Production Team", published by Makigami.

It is important to understand that for any OEE and/or TPM initiative to be successful, it requires a site steering commitee to make sure that the strategy behind the initiave is deployed correctly, and that all employees are making a valued contribution towards the improvement efforts. This is best maintianed if everyone, from top management to shopfloor staff, acts as a unified team.
